NOTES:
The exam that the State Board of Court Reporting has adopted as its certifying examination is the RPR, given by the National Court Reporters Association. StenoTech hosts the RPR/RMR/CRR/CBC/CCP skills tests at both of its campuses.
Currently applicants must be a student member of NCRA by January 31 to sit for the May exam; for the fall exam, you must join NCRA by July 31. These dates are subject to change if NCRA adds test dates in 2010 (currently under consideration). Applications for student membership are available in the reception area and must be signed by the school director; they may be faxed to NCRA w/credit card information or mailed with a check. NCRA student memberships are allowed for a maximum period of five years and must be renewed annually.
The WKT (Written Knowledge Test) is given at professional electronic testing sites through Pearson VUE in a computer-based format during several two-week periods throughout the year. Skills test information is automatically mailed by NCRA to all enrolled members prior to each examination date. Go to www.ncraonline.com for further information or contact the State Board of Court Reporting in Newark at 973-504-6490.
The WKT for medical transcriptionists is also given at professional electronic testing sites. Skills certification exam information is available through Jean Melone, Director - Fairfield Campus. |
